2D, 3D transfers and manipulators
When producing sheet metal parts from blanks, those blanks are transferred from die to die with automated devices called transfers. Usually, transfers are designed according to design of sheet metal forming dies (tools) installed in the hydraulic or mechanical press, but the dies (tools) are also designed to compromise usage of transfers. In this order 2D transfers are the most commonly used transfers inside the transfer presses.
2D transfers are used to pick up part from each of the transfer die installed in the transfer press, lift them vertically, move them above the next transfer die and lower / put them vertically into the next die, according to technological production process of the product.
Sometimes, parts being transferred inside the transfer press (because of their technological production process) are needed to be transferred from die to die with progressively changed height or orientation of the products. In this manner so called 3D transfers can be engineered and installed.
At the end of production line, instead of the part falling off the press (or die), different manipulators can be designed and produced, to handle and obtain the part from the press and deliver it on the specific place near by.
TRANSFER DIE METHOD AND PRODUCTION
The method of production with transfer dies (tools) is based on production of the part being progressively deformed in separate transfer dies mounted in one press. Throughout this process the part is transported from die to die with a transferring device called transfer.
Transfer die production method and production process is similar to production method used in presses with progressive die with exception, that in presses mounted with transfer dies, the part is separated from the coil at beginning of (semi)part deformation. Part is transferred from die the die with transfer, being controllably deformed step by step by many dies. Throughout this process the transferred blank is step by step becoming the part being produced.
